DELL CORPORATION (Thailand) yesterday announced a plan to further expand its sales channel network coverage nationwide, boost online sales growth, and tap more provincial markets as part of its consumer business group’s growth strategy in the second half of this year.
Anothai Wettayakorn, vice president of Dell EMC Indochina, said that the company’s overall businesses in the first half of this year achieved targets in all consumer and enterprise product categories. Performance in the second half would generally be better than the first half, he said.
Thitaphon Boonprasit, channel sales director of Dell Corporation (Thailand), said that the company and local partners would continue to further expand sales channel network coverage and open additional Dell Concept Store nationwide – the latter dedicated to sell only Dell consumer products. Dell now has nine concept stores across Thailand.
Thitaphon said the company and partners would also focus on marketing online to drive growth in sales of Dell consumer products.
Yesterday Dell introduced new products and among them are two high-end laptops – the Inspiron 7000 and the Inspiron 7000 2-in-1. It also introduced the gamer-focused Alienware Aurora desktop model, and Alienware 15 and 17 laptop models. And it launched new models of accessories from gaming monitors to gaming keyboards and gaming mouses.
Thitaphon said that Thailand’s PCs-for-gamers sector had continued to grow and now accounts for between 13 per cent and 14 per cent of the total PC units purchased here.
Dell Thailand has competed in the mid-range to high-end segments of PCs for gamers, where there are few rivals. Anothai said that competition in Thailand’s low-end niche of PCs for gamers is intensifying.
