It may seem like an obvious statement, but sometimes a shotgun just isn’t a viable option!
That is why the DroneGun has been invented to eliminate those annoying flying cameras from the skies!
As the company clearly understands that you can’t just shoot down drones, the 13-pound ‘gun’, although rifle shaped, doesn’t actually fire bullets, rockets or any other object, but instead emits a signal – from up 1.2 miles away.
This is capable of jamming the unwanted drone which then renders it useless to the owner.
The DroneGun then assumes control of the intruder and has the option of either landing the drone or sending a signal for it to leave the vicinity.
Unfortunately, it is only set to be made available to law enforcement agencies and government organisations.
DroneShield, the creators of the “gun” intend the device to be used used to stop explosive-carrying drones, keep illegally flying drones out of restricted spaces and drug-dropping drones out of prisons.
“We certainly feel that a jammer is a safer way to bring down a drone than shooting it,” Oleg Vornik, DroneShield’s chief financial officer, said in an interview with The Washington Post.
“In terms of how this is sold, there is clearly a very controlled process,” Vornik said. “In most developed countries around the world, there is a very narrow bandwidth of customers we can sell to.”
