Apple is reportedly set to release an updated version of the iPhone SE, the iPhone SE 2, later this year.
The original version was released two years ago as a cheaper alternative to the iPhone.
What made the iPhone SE popular with users is that it included similar specs to the premium iPhone such as a 12MP camera and Apple’s A9 chipset alongside either 16 or 64GB RAM.
However, with its 4.7 inch body it retails for just 14,500 baht making it more than 10,000 baht cheaper than other iPhone models.
Two years down the line and it now due an upgrade with all the signs pointing to Apple releasing a new version in June.
Last week, leaked photos emerged online which claimed to show the iPHone SE 2.
The images purported to show the new handset with a glass back, suggesting it could support wireless charging.
Interestingly, the images also show the handset with a headphone jack, which Apple controversially decided to ditch on the iPhone 7 and more recently with the iPhone 8 and iPhone X.
Otherwise, it seems the design of the iPhone SE 2 will be almost identical to its predecessor.
As for specs, it could include Apple’s new A10 Fusion chip alongside at least 32GB of storage, an upgrade from the 16GB available first time round.
The 12MP camera is likely to remain but a 7MP front facing camera with Retina Flash could be added.
As for its official unveiling, Apple is due to hold its Worldwide Developers Conference on 4 June 2018, with the iPhone SE 2 tipped to make an appearance.
