5 WhatsApp tips every user needs to know


WhatsApp recently announced it now has over 1.5 billion active monthly users making it the world’s biggest messaging app.

The Facebook-owned service is continuing to develop and release new upgrades and features in order to keep their followers happy and entertained.

If you are a WhatsApp user here are five features you may not be aware of but will definitely like.

View videos from YouTube inside WhatsApp

After a recent update, you can now watch videos directly inside the app when a friend sends a video simply press the play button to watch. The video will also be in a floating window so you can move it around the screen as you wish.

Include Location-Based Stickers to your Videos and Photos

Users can now tag a location along with the current time on any video or photo they send to a chat. When in a chat tap the + icon then Photo & Video Library and choose the file photo or video you want, the stickers options will be launched automatically and you can now choose to add time and location to your photo or video.

Send Money to other users – (Coming Soon)

WhatsApp has introduced a new payment method within their app, allowing you to make payments without leaving the chat window. A beta version of this new function was recently trialled by 1 million users and is currently only available in India.

Delete a Sent Message (7 minutes time limit)

Simply tap and hold on a message to delete it, a pop-up window will appear with links to Reply, Forward, Copy and Delete, select Delete for Everyone and the message will disappear on everyone’s devices but only if you complete the action within 7 minutes of sending it.

Ensure You Remain Hidden Online

To prevent any of your friends knowing when you were last online you have the ability to hide the time. Here’s how, go to settings > Account > Privacy > Last Seen
Similar to when you disable read receipts, hiding your ‘last seen’ time will also mean you can no longer see anyone else’s ‘last seen’ time.
