The Apple Watch is nearly upon us, and there has obviously been intense speculation about just how expensive each of the various models will be. Apple has already said the Sport version will cost $349, but there are dozens of models, bands, and different materials.
Apple Watch Edition price
In a Chinese rumour site, it appears that the most expensive, sold gold version with a gold strap might cost almost $20,000. The website has an image of several versions of the top model, called Apple Watch Edition, with a couple of different strap/band styles.
It’s not clear whether the image is an actual leaked price list, or whether it’s based upon educated guesses in terms of the material costs, but it looks fairly credible in any case (and Feng.com has been known to leak accurate information in the past). For $16,999 you may be able to buy the smaller 38mm Apple Watch Edition in yellow or rose gold, with an 18K solid gold link bracelet. For $19,999, you’ll be able to buy the larger 42mm version.
Even the cheapest version of the Apple Watch Edition looks like it might cost nearly $7,000. For ‘just’ $6,999 you can have the 38mm version in yellow 18K solid gold, with a midnight blue classic leather strap with a yellow gold pin.
There is only a week to go until we really know the prices of the Apple Watch, but one thing is for certain, I will definitely be going for the cheaper Apple Watch Sport, rather than the solid gold versions…
