Last year’s ASUS Zenfone 2 was arguably one of the best budget Android smartphones which more than held its own when up against even some of the leading flagship devices.
Following up on last year’s device was always going to be a tough task for ASUS. However, the ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser very much continues where its predecessor left off, whilst also adding some of its own interesting refinements.
There are a few different versions of the Zenfone 2. The one featured here is the ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser (model number ZE601KL), which gets its name from the laser guided speed shooting feature on its camera.
The ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser includes a 6 inch display with pixel density of 367PPI and a resolution of 1080×1920.
It is powered by a 1.7GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be expanded to 128GB with MicroSD.
It runs Android 5.0 and includes a 3000mAh removable battery.
As for the cameras, the Asus Zenfone 2 Laser includes a 13MP primary shooter on the rear, which also offers a laser auto focus system which ASUS says will make object look sharper and clearer and is meant to be an improvement compared to last year’s Zenfone 2.
The front facing 5MP camera also includes the laser auto focus.
Other things of note, the phone is 4G enabled and includes a dual sim.
The Asus Zenfone 2 Laser is on sale in Thailand for 8,990 THB.
