Facebook is testing a new feature that it hopes will make it easier to keep track of conversations on posts which attract a large number of comments.
The new feature will see user comments appear as a pop up window, TechCrunch reported.
As Facebook puts it, when someone: “comments on your post, replies to your comment or tags you in a comment, a new window will automatically open up in the desktop version.”
Once a window has been created it will appear alongside Messenger popups. This will enable to the user to take part in a conversation without having to leave their News Feed.
The new feature is in response to requests from users who are looking to keep better track of their long comments although at present it is only available to a small number of Facebook users.
Meanwhile a spokesperson for Facebook told the Daily Mail: “We’ve heard from people that they would like an easier way to participate in conversations on a post while they are still in News Feed so we are testing a new option that opens up a window when someone comments on your post, replies to your comment or tags you in a comment.”
“You can always hide the conversation or turn off notifications from within the dropdown menu of the post.”
