Samsung has followed Apple’s lead and added a new glossy black version to its Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge lineup.
The new Black Pearl colour is highly polished and finished is being added to the colour range available for the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. However, the new colour will only be available on the 128GB version.
The move follows in the footsteps of Apple who launched a Jet Black version of the iPhone 7 but only released the option on the 128GB and 256GB models.
The scratch-prone colour has proved to be extremely popular with iPhone users as stocks have been running low since September.
However, the new colour option will not be available in every market and will not be available on the standard Galaxy S7.
Samsung has not been any more specific than saying the new colour will be available in “select markets”.
According to the South Korean firm, “the glossy new colorway, which radiates quality and luxury, will be exclusive to 128GB versions of the device and debut in select markets on December 9.”
The news comes in wake of more details emerging about the Samsung Galaxy S8, which is expected to see a major facelift of Galaxy range to compete with Apple who are expected to make a big impact with their tenth anniversary iPhone in 2017.
Sources within Samsung expect the new device to push the boundaries of design with its “all screen” look.
The bezel around the edge is expected to go which will extend the screen to the chassis and the glass will curve around the edge of the phone – as it does on the S7 Edge. This will give the device an appearance of “all display”.
