Samsung might be about to announce the Galaxy S9 and there is even talk of the company working on a new flip phone, but now a new leak has revealed the Korean firm is working on something far more radical.
Samsung looks set to challenge the iPhone X with a ground-breaking new bezel free phone.
The Korean giant has been innovative with their designs such as the Note Edge, Galaxy S7 and S8 – all devices that are focused around experimenting with the display.
But now the company looks set to take its design innovation to the next level.
It was Dutch tech site LETSGODIGITAL who spotted a series of Samsung patents held with WIPO (World International Property Office).
The patents reveals how the Korean tech giant wants to build a world first truly pure bezel-less phone. The display will bend 180 degrees and can be stretched up from the back.
If the images are to be believed, it certainly looks impressive and the display will offer users a better grip, a host of new and improved functionally like the edge gestures, fingerprint sensors built into the display, as well as an improved iris scanner, which Samsung is already reportedly has in development.
As yet, it is unclear where the front camera will be placed.
The news comes after Samsung is rumoured to be on the verge of announcing the release of a new state of the art flip phone.
The phone, dubbed the Samsung Galaxy X could be launched in 2018 and there have already been lots of leaked images about how the phone may appear.
Reportedly, the upcoming flip phone codenamed SM-W2018 could be exclusive to China and South Korea markets. Once again, if the images are to be believed it will have dual displays and a physical keyboard.
