It seems that just about every tech company, and a few established watch companies, are jumping on the smartwatch bandwagon these days, as Fossil has teamed up with Intel to launch a new Android Wear-powered smartwatch.
Fossil and Intel announced smartwatch
We have been aware of Fossil’s smartwatch aspirations for a while now and this week the tech press finally got a look at what the company has been working on. At fashion event IDF, the fashion brand Fossil showed off three connected accessories, all of which were in fact powered by Intel.
The companies previously announced they were working together, but until this week there hasn’t been any official unveiling of any products.
The three wearables devices include a connected bracelet, a connected watch, and a smartwatch that runs Google’s Android Wear operating system.
The two companies didn’t reveal very much about the specs and features however, but from the look of the devices demonstrated, there will be lots of silver and gold with leather and metal bands. There is also a strange black bar on the smartwatch, across the bottom of the screen in a similar manner to the Moto 360.
The devices will be launched in time for Christmas, and we’ll update you as more details come in…
