With the Samsung Galaxy lineup set to be announced this Sunday at Samsung’s Unpacked event, there have been even more leaked pictures and specs on the Internet today.
Galaxy S6 pics leaked
Photos of the Galaxy S6 (wrapped in bubble wrap) appeared on the xda-developers website, posted by a user called “reefur’, who claimed not to know what the device was in the shots, but also that the smartphone in question came from AT&T – the mobile operator in the USA.
Then, a day later, even more images of the phone were posted, but without the bubble wrap, sitting next to another phone, which is supposedly the Galaxy S6 Edge variant.
The standard model of the S6 looks quite similar to the previous generation of Galaxy S handsets, however the leaks suggest that it will instead have a metal body and a 5.1-inch display with a very premium, high-end feel instead of the plastic and fake leather that adorned previous models.
One downside of the metal back, is that supposedly it’s not possible to remove the battery, and there is also said to be no SD card slot, which will annoy some users as those are two features that have proved popular with users.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge has a curved display that wraps around both sides of the device – it’s supposed to be the same technology as already seen on the Galaxy Note Edge, however on that device the screen only wrapped around on one side.
Inside the smartphones, we’re expecting that they will both use Samsung’s new Exynos 7 mobile CPU, which is made using a 14 nm process that should lead to a better battery life and performance benefits.
Whether all these leaks and rumours turn out to be true will be known on Sunday, when both new devices are expected to be announced ahead of Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 in Spain. There is sure to be a flurry of Galaxy S6 news next week, we get our first real glimpse of the devices.
