GoPro launches new Hero cameras and Karma drone

GoPro has officially unveiled the eagerly anticipated Hero 5 action camera, which is available in two different models.

The GoPro Hero 5 Black is the company’s new flagship action camera that includes a 12 megapixel sensor and its very own 2 inch touch screen.

It is also waterproof to depths of 10 metres WITHOUT needing to use GoPro’s famous plastic protective casing. It also incorporates voice control, which could prove very useful if you’re using your hands to hold ski poles, kayak oars or the like.

Like its predecessor, the Hero 5 will be able to shoot 4K video at 30fps – however, it also includes digital image stabilisation, the first time this has been included on a GoPro camera.

Alongside the Hero 5, GoPro has also launched the more affordable Hero 5 Session.

The Session also includes voice control, image stabilization and waterproofing and can also record 4K, an improvement on the 1080p offered on its predecessor. However, the battery life isn’t quite as long and there is no touch screen.

However, the pick the of the new GoPro devices is its new Karma drone which is arguably the most transportable drone available today, as it can be easily folded and carried in your backpack.

The Karma should be pretty straightforward to fly with its game style controller with built in touch screen display.

It also includes a 3 axis camera stabiliser which should mean your footage turns out super smooth.

GoPro says the Karma packs “Hollywood-caliber aerial, handheld and gear-mounted image stabilisation”.

The GoPro HERO 5 session and Hero 5 Black will be available from October 2 and will cost in the region of 10,800 baht and 14,400 baht respectively.

The Karma drone approximately 28,800 baht and is released on October 23.
