Here are two reasons why you should stick with the iPhone 7/7 Plus instead of the Galaxy S8/S8 Plus

It’s just a matter of days before the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus will be available to order in Thailand and under two weeks until the devices go on sale in major markets around the world.

And now Samsung’s latest flagship smartphones have been pitted against its biggest rival the iPhone 7 Plus in a series of tests.

In a new video YouTube channel EverythingApplePro has compared the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the iPhone 7 Plus in a speed test.

The test involved opening apps one after another before then rendering a 4K 30 fps video.

The results of the test might surprise some of you, especially if you were thinking about buying a Samsung Galaxy S8.

According the tests, despite the Galaxy S8 rocking Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 chip, compared to the A10 Fusion processor in the iPhone 7 Plus, which is now more than 6 months old, the Samsung device struggles to keep up with the iPhone.

In fact, it is absolutely trounced by the iPhone 7 Plus, which manages to open up all the apps in almost half the amount of time taken by the Galaxy S8.

The iPhone 7 Plus was able to open all the apps and then render the video in just 3 minutes 38 seconds, whereas it took the Galaxy S8 a whopping 7 minutes and 35 seconds.

In another more tortuous test carried out by EverythingApplePro, the Samsung phone was again trumped by its Apple rival.

Following a drop test, the Samsung Galaxy S8, with its glass back, suffered fairly extensive damage, while the iPhone 7 with its aluminium casing came out of the test with less damage, although both phones did suffer broken screens.

Despite the videos of both tests, it is far from clear how representative the tests actually are and if they reflect so called real world usage.
