If your iPhone 6S has been suffering from battery issues, Apple has said you could be eligible for a replacement.
Apple have launched a new tool that enables iPhone 6S users to check to find out if their device is affected by a problem which basically stems from a faulty battery in some handsets.
The upgrade and replace service will now allow users to enter their device’s own unique serial number. If everything matches with Apples’ records you will be entitled for a replacement battery free of charge.
The move comes after several users claimed that their devices were shutting down unexpectedly so launched the repair program around two weeks ago to address the problem.
The problem appears to be connected to a few devices that were manufactured between September and October 2015 although Apple have been quick to reassure users that it does not relate to the safety of the device.
The company now offers to replace the device’s battery at any Apple Store or authorised service provider.
If you have already paid for a replacement battery you can contact Apple for a refund.
It should be noted that Apple is only offering replacement batteries for devices that are in good working condition.
Any defects such as a cracked screen which would impair the replacement of the battery would need to be fixed first.
