Facebook Messenger’s Instant Games feature that was first introduced in November last year is now available to every single one of its 1.2 billion users.
Users can now play against their friends in 50 different games, which includes titles such as Pac Man, 8 Ball Pool, Snake and Space Invaders by tapping on the Games option when using Messenger.
“Today, Messenger is launching a number of new and exciting games, offering users even more fun options to play on the platform with friends or even solo,” Facebook said in a blog post.
“From old school classics to group challenges and all-time favorites, Messenger now has up to 50 game titles available to ensure you never get bored and always have something to do either at home or on-the-go.”
To start playing against one your friends just open up a conversation or start a new one, click on the plus sign next to the text box and select the ‘Games’ option.
As well as working in Facebook Messenger, the games can also be accessed via the Facebook website.
Facebook said that being able to play the games is just the beginning, with new features to be added in the near future.
“People will begin to see new features as game developers start to incorporate the new capabilities with one of Instant Games on Messenger’s biggest hits, Blackstorm’s EverWing, being among the first to use Game bots,” Facebook said.
“Depending on what device you use and where you are located, there are now up to 50 games titles available on Messenger, with more being introduced almost every week. We’re also excited to be bringing the world’s #1 pool game — Miniclip’s 8 Ball Pool — to Instant Games very soon.”
