It is possible to try latest version of Windows 10 before the launch in April even though Microsoft are still finalising the major update.
The upcoming Creators Update will have a whole host of new features and to trial it before anyone else, you can sign up to the Windows 10 Insider Program.
Not only will you be able to access all the latest Windows 10 builds but you will also have an input on shaping the future of the OS by offering feedback
Those interested should be warned that the software may not work as planned so we strongly recommend that you don’t install any of the updates on a computer that you are heavily reliant on.
Even if you are using a secondary device, it is important that you backup your files and create a restore point prior to signing up.
Once you’ve done that, here’s how to sign up for the Windows 10 Insider Program:
– Open the Settings menu on your Windows 10 computer
– Select Update & Security
– Hit Windows Insider Program and Get Started
– Log in with your Microsoft account
You will receive a warning at this stage confirming that you are happy to install the pre-release software.
You will also be warned that you may need to wipe the hard drive of your PC before reinstalling Windows in order to stop receiving the builds from the Insider Preview.
Once you have installed the software, you then need to go to the Windows 10 Insider Program menu and choose the level you require. The options are:
Fast: You’ll be the fist to access to the Insider Builds, but also leave yourself exposed to the most bugs
Slow: You get access to pre-release builds, but not as early as Fast Ring Insiders
Release Preview: The default option, you receive operating system updates and security fixes before regular users, but do not get access to any new Insider Builds.
Microsoft is expected to roll out the Windows 10 Creators Update from April 11.
