Here’s a round up of new tech released in Thailand this week – 17 Dec

Best faces forward

At just Bt8,990, you can afford the Oppo F5 Youth smartphone. It’s got AI Beauty technology for prettying up portraits and Facial Unlock to ensure security by putting your best face forward.

Inside is the MediaTek octacore processor MT6763T, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The six-inch FHD+ display is sandwiched between a 16MP front camera and 13MP rear camera.

Meet the pocket printer

The HP Sprocket portable photo printer can zip 2×3-inch sticky-backed photos out of a smartphone.

Use Bluetooth to hook them up and you have vibrant, smudge-proof photos to share or store. Small enough to fit in the palm, the Sprocket comes in metallic red, white or black, complete with a 10-pack of HP Zink Photo Paper, all for Bt5,380.

Additional 20-piece packs of photo paper cost Bt385.

Boom takes a beating

The Ultimate Ears Boom 2 Bluetooth speaker can get wet, muddy and beaten up without injury. UE Boom 360-degree speaker technology makes it 25 per cent louder and affords a longer wireless range of 30 metres.

The battery will last 15 hours, there’s tap control to work the music, and you have a wider choice of colours – Cherrybomb, Yeti, Phantom, Green Machine, Tropical and Brain Freeze.

Expect to pay Bt6,990.

It’s a Bt3,000 smartphone

Wiko’s Lenny 4 Plus phone has a 5.5-inch IPS HD display, an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera, a MediaTek MT6580 Quadcore 1.3GHz, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage.

Packing a 2,500mAh removable battery, the Lenny 4 Plus comes in black, gold, “bleen” (bluegreen) or lime for an incredible Bt2,990.

Life at the movies

Designed for professional-standard performance and ease of use, the FDRAX700 camera captures every subject with the realism of 4K HDR (HLG) video, thanks to Fast Hybrid AF and other proclass capabilities.

It uses a 1.0-type stacked Exmor RS CMOS image sensor and is powered by a BionZ X image processor. There are 273 phase-detection autofocus points and a readiness to shoot in superslow motion.

It’s in stores for Bt64,990.
