Hitman: Definitive Edition announced and release date revealed


One of the biggest gaming hits from 2016, Hitman, is getting a major re-release.

Hitman: Definitive Edition will be released for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on May 15th this year although fans of the game in the UK will have to wait three more days until they can start killing at will. This edition will come with the base game and all the previous downloadable content.

The game will include Hitman Season 1, Game of the Year Edition Content, Summer Bonus Episode and the Blood Money Requiem pack. Along with expansion packs, user’s players will also get a new set of cosmetics based on other games from developer IO Interactive: one is based on Kane & Lynch, one on Freedom Fighters and one on Mini Ninjas.

The enhancements that were introduced for the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X are included, however, not all content is on the physical disc, the extra content will need to be downloaded and comes in at 12-24 GB depending on which platform you own.

Warner Bros will handle global distribution, the publisher has been responsible for some of the biggest video game franchises including the Batman: Arkham series.

The Hitman series was previously owned by Square Enix, IO Interactive purchased the rights to the franchise from the Japanese publisher and went independent before entering this new deal with Warner Bros. A new Hitman TV show is also in the works; although as of now details are scarce.
