The 5.5-inch Ascend Mate S smartphone is one of Huawei’s most well known and high-specced smartphones, but the Chinese company has also unveiled its top-end Huawei G8 phone which is about to be launched internationally next month. The G8 stands out with an all-metal body and is available in dark silver, gold, and white, coming with a 1080p HD screen sporting Gorilla Glass.

Under the hood, the new version of the G8 comes with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage and a 3,000 mAh battery. There’s a fingerprint sensor and dual-SIM support, as well as 4G connectivity. In terms of the processor there’s a Qualcomm MSM 8939, which is a 1.5 GHz + 1.2 GHz 8-core CPU.
The new phone is no slouch on the camera side either. The Huawei packs a 13 megapixel shooter covered by a sapphire lens with optical image stabilisation. But the company also highlights its capabilities as a camera that can be used in low light environments.
Costing around 399 Euros, Huawei will launch the G8 in several countries first including the UK, China, France, Germany and Turkey.
Besides the Mate S and this all-metal G8, Huawei also just revealed pricing for its Android Wear smartwatch (which will work with Android and iOS devices) after debuting it earlier in the year at press events. Huawei is also rumoured to be teaming up with Google for a new Nexus phone set for release later this month.
