IKEA’s Wireless Charging Furniture is Coming this Spring

0

Not too long ago, IKEA announced plans to on launch a line of wireless charging furniture. Today, the Swedish furniture maker revealed that its new wireless charging line is coming to the US in late spring. Don’t want to buy new furniture? No problem. IKEA makes it easy to install its charging device into any piece of furniture.

IKEA offers three types of wireless charging products. The first is a fully-finished product. These are pieces of furniture (e.g. desks, lamps and nightstands) that already have the wireless chargers built in. Because these are complete pieces, price range from $60 to $100+.

If you’re not interested in buying new furniture, IKEA offers NORDMARKE, which is a wireless charging pad with either single or triple active charging areas. The pads also feature USB ports, so you can charge other devices at the same time. As you may have guessed, the charging pads are cheaper at just $28 for a single charger and $65 for a triple charger.

If you prefer to take a DIY approach, IKEA offers the JYSSEN, which fits right into the cord management hole found on IKEA desks. Don’t have an IKEA desk? No problem. The company also sells the FIXA hole saw, which will actually drill the perfect sized hole in any piece of furniture you own.

Expect to see IKEA’s new wireless charging products in US stores later this spring.
