Internet searches about Brexit are more popular than porn, says Google

Last month’s decision by the UK to exit the EU has lead to more people searching Google about Brexit than for porn.

The news was revealed by the Guardian’s Chris Moran who points out that “porn” is one of the most commonly searched for terms in the world.

In fact it is right up there with “Facebook” and “Gmail”.

The trends that came out from Google showed that a surprising amount of people didn’t actually know either what the EU was or where it is in the world.

Perhaps frighteningly this information was gained from Google’s UK site.

According to Google the second most common question that was asked after the referendum was “What is the EU?” Other popular questions included: “What does it mean to leave the EU?”, “Which countries are in the EU?” and “How many countries are in the EU?”

Perhaps those who were disappointed by the result have also taken to Google in their number by asking “How do I emigrate?”
