If you are experiencing iPhone battery life problems after installing iOS 11, you’re not alone!

Lots of iPhone users are reporting that they are having problems with their devices’ battery life after installing the latest version of Apple’s mobile operating system.

If you are one of those people who has been affected, there are a few things that you can do to mitigate the damage.

Initially, it is advisable to wait a couple of days to see if the problem irons itself out.

It’s actually not uncommon to experience sever battery drain after installing a major software update such as iOS 11.

This is because your phone will be indexing photos, messages as well as your background settings and cache.

This is the case after any major update on any device. This can take a couple of days and use more battery life but once indexing is finished, things should return to normal.

Here are 5 other things that we suggest you could try if you are still experiencing problems.

1. Dim your display

All smartphones have colourful, powerful display that look fantastic. Unfortunately, they are a massive drain on your phones battery. Turn the brightness down to the lowest level to save battery life.

2. Get your device to timeout quicker

This can be slightly annoying but it will have some effect on saving your battery life. Go to “auto-lock” and you can adjust how long you’re your screen stays on when not in use.

3. Close unwanted apps

This is an obvious one but one many of us fail to do. If you have finished using an app, make sure it is fully closed down rather than running in the background.

4. Turn off WiFi

If your device is constantly searching for a WiFi signal it will zap the battery life. When you are on the move turn off WiFi and only turn it back on when you know that you can connect to a network.

5. Don’t use vibrate

Vibrate uses far more power than your ringtone. If you are trying to be discreet, say you are in a meeting, turn your phone on to silent and this will save your battery.
