Although Pokemon Go has been the craze of 2016 it appears that the game may already be on the decline.
In July the app had 45 million users but by the start of August that had already gone down to 30 million according to data collated by Sensor Tower, SurveyMonkey and Apptopia with a further decline anticipated.
One suggested reason for the decline is that the developer, Niantic, released an update for the app on July 31.
This update disabled the game’s feature which used to show trainers how close Pokemon were to their location. Third party apps were also blocked that helped users track down Pokemon and the game was referred to as a “blind lottery.”
Whilst the apps peak may have already been passed, Niantic are not giving up with a new update expected shortly for both iOS and Android that will offer bug fixes as well as new Pokemon attack and defence features.
Niantic posted on Facebook: “We are still working hard on several new and exciting features to come in the future of Pokemon Go.”
