With its affordable price and (almost) high end specs, the ASUS Zenfone 2 was regarded by many as one the standout Android smartphones of 2015.
While the Taiwanese smartphone maker has released a few updated variants more recently, a set of leaked images that have appeared online suggest a successor to the Zenfone 2 could be with us soon rather than later.
Images featured on the Red Dot 21 site, which showcases and awards the best designed products from the world of tech, are said to show what the new Asus Zenfone 3 and Zenfone 3 Deluxe will look like.
According to Red Dot 21, the Zenfone 3 will include an aluminium frame with “2.5D” glass on the front and rear of the device.
While there is no information on the full specs of either phone, the description says the Zenfone 3 will also include a fingerprint sensor, USB Type C, LED flash on the front and rear cameras and laser autofocus.
From the images, the phone will be available in gold silver and black and from looking at the image of the Zenfone 3 Deluxe, it looks very similar to the Samsung Galaxy S7 with its metal frame and curved edges.
ASUS had previously announced its plans to release the Zenfone 3 at the Computex event in Taipei at the end of May.
