It seems that more and more leaks are making their way out regarding the new iPhone 8.
The latest report from iDrop News, claims that the new device will be “much heftier” than previous iPhones, so in terms of its size is expected to be somewhere between the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus.
At this stage, it is unclear how much the device will weigh but it expected to be somewhere between 138 grams and 188 grams, the weights of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus respectively.
This latest report cites “factory workers with intimate knowledge” of Apple’s plans and suggests that the dimensions of the new device will be 143.59 x 70.94 x 7.57 mm, versus the iPhone 7 at 138.3 x 67.1 x 7.1 mm.
According to the report, the iPhone 8 will also be thicker than the iPhone 7 Plus, which measures 158.2 x 77.9 x 7.3 mm, though it will have a smaller overall footprint.
The screen size of the iPhone 8 will be similar to that of the iPhone 7 Plus thanks to the absence of bezels.
For those interested in a comparison with the Samsung Galaxy s8 and S8+, the Galaxy S8 measures 148.9 x 68.1 x 8.0 mm, while the Galaxy S8+ comes in at 159.5 x 73.4 x 8.1 mm.
The latest leaks seem very much akin to what we have reported from previous rumours although it must be stressed that they are just that, rumours.
We will wait for the officially unveiling to see which rumours were accurate!
