Some images of the new Fitbit Charge 2 and Fitbit Flex 2 have been leaked online ahead of the official launch at IFA 2016 in Berlin next month.
From the images we can certainly see the close resemblance of the Fitbit Charge 2 to the original Charge and Surge, with the textured rubber strap and monochrome display.
The sibling, Fitbit Flex 2 has preferred to keep things far simpler and opts for a five LED light display rather than anything more complex.
The leaks, which first appeared on Techno Buffalo reveal some of the features and specs although there is nothing that will be of too much of a surprise.
The Charge boasts Fitbit’s trademark PurePulse heart rate monitoring sysyem and enables you to keep track of your daily activity and sleep patterns, as well as offering multi-sport tracking.
It has also been mentioned that there will be some smartphone notification but what these are remains unclear at present but hopefully more than call, SMS and calendar alerts!
The Fitbit Flex 2’s on the other hand has the ‘super’ feature is that it offers some form of water resistance, which Fitbit describes as ‘swimproof’.
There is no mention of sleep or sports tracking, so the new device essential remains a pedometer with some extra features – albeit one that taps into the excellent Fitbit ecosystem.
Both models have a few different colours to those shown off in the leak as well as some interchangeable accessories and bands.
No price has been mentioned or the actual release date, so we may have to wait until Berlin next month to learn more.
