LG has launched its latest premium smartphone, the LG G7 ThinQ. With this new device, the company hopes to compete with their rivals, including Apple and Samsung.
LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company President, Hwang Jeong-hwan said, “The LG G7 ThinQ is strongly focused on the fundamentals and its launch marks a new chapter for our company.
“Through the combination of personalised and useful AI functionalities with meaningful smartphone features, this is LG’s most convenient smartphone yet.”
The new device comes with a whole host of new features such as AI integration, a customisable notch and a boom box speaker.
At the heart of the G7 ThinQ device is the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor along with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal storage. The new flagship device boasts a 6.1-inch display, with a polished metal rim and glass front and back.
As for the camera, the G7 ThinQ has an upgraded 8MP front camera accompanied with dual 16MP lenses on the back in both standard and Super Wide Angle configurations.
Thanks to a button on the side of the device Google Assistant is easy to access, a simple quick tap will launch Google Assistant, while double tapping will launch Google Lens.
The screen is replete with six types of viewing modes, Auto, Eco, Cinema, Sports, Game and Expert.
The LG Boom Box feature is a welcome inclusion and enhances the audio experience by using the internal space of the device as a resonance chamber to deliver a huge sound for your aural pleasure.
The new trend of adding ‘notches’ to smartphones has received mixed reviews, however, LG has provided users with some options with theirs. The notch on the G7 ThinQ can be expanded for an edgeless look or blacked out completely.
The new device will be available in four different colours, Black, Blue, Grey and Pink, no official release date has been announced yet.
