AFTER LINE TV succeeded in drawing 14 million downloads of its application for its online video content platform, it plans to open up a beauty category next month to support the new lifestyle of both female and male viewers.
Dan Zonmani, director of content business at Line Thailand, said women make up 54 per cent of viewers and men 46 per cent.
By age, 18-24-year olds account for 53 per cent of the audience, 25-34 years for 34 per cent and 35 years and over 13 per cent.
Line TV now broadcasts six categories – drama, entertainment, sports, music, animation and live – with more than 300 programmes to support the demands of all viewers.
Nielsen Research has reported that more than 90 Line TV viewers watch videos via mobile.
Thai Line users also spend an average 152 minutes per day watching Line TV.
Worldwide, people spend 65 minutes per day watching video contents such as YouTube via smartphones.
Thais spend 133 minutes per day on their smartphone watching video contents, more than double the global average.
Line TV’s play-views grew 136 per cent last year, as viewers spent 81 per cent more time on Line TV.
Last year, 70 per cent of users were active.
