Google has announced a brand new feature that now makes it easier than ever to help you locate your lost Android phone.
By simply typing “find my phone” into Google Search you will be able to see the location of your phone on a map.
You also have the option to ring the phone directly from the browser should you suspect your phone is nearby, having perhaps fallen down the back of the sofa, or having been hidden by one of the kids.
In order to use the ‘find my phone’ feature you’ll need to make sure you have the latest version of the Google app installed on your Android device, and you must also be logged into the same Google account on both your browser and Android phone.
Google’s new feature to help you locate your phone is similar to what is already available with Android Device Manager, which is a must have app for anyone who uses an Android phone.
Whilst Google’s version is a simpler way of finding out where you phone is located, Android Device Manager allows you to not only locate your phone, but also lock it and erase all the data remotely, should you think that your device has been stolen or has fallen into the wrong hands.
