Modobag: The future is riding your suitcase around the airport

1

There is nothing worse than dragging you suitcase around the airport; you are under enough stress as it is but getting hot and sweaty just makes matters worse.

How would you feel is the roles reversed, and you suitcase took you around the airport?

That is where the Modobag comes in, the world’s first motorised and rideable piece of luggage.

The suitcase travels at 8MPH (13KPM) and is capable of travelling for around 6 miles (9.7KM) and is available for crowdfunding on Indiegogo and within a month had more than trebled its initial target of US$50,000 (THB1.7 million) which means that seeing these suitcases in an airport near you may not be too far away.

Whether it is a good idea or just causes chaos is yet to be seen but the Modobag comes complete with GPS meaning that you will never lose it, LED lights and of course the obligatory USB charging points.

The bonus of the suitcase is that it complies with carry on regulations. The bag is certainly not cheap, priced at a whopping US$995 (THB35,000).

It may be an idea to see if they come down in price or, to see if they even take-off (if you forgive the pun).

We all remember when Segways were first released and the looks that people got as they were going around resorts so maybe for pride purposes it would be an idea to wait!

Unbelievable. Too lazy to pull a bag with wheels onto the moving aisle to get you through the air-conditioned airport? If you think you need one of these, you’ve got far too much money.
