If you’re longing for the days when a mobile phone didn’t cost the best part of 30,000 baht and had a battery that lasted all day, then the latest phone from Nokia could be just what you’re looking for.
Last week, Microsoft announced the release of a new phone, the Nokia 216.
While not a world beater by any stretch of the imagination, the Nokia 216 offers Facebook, mobile web browsing and a whopping 24 day battery life in standby mode, 8 hours of talk time and 47 hours of audio playback.
Oh and it only costs little over 1,200 baht.
It also includes Bluetooth, a 2.4 inch display and 0.3 megapixel camera – well we did say it wasn’t a world beater!
The Nokia 216 also comes with a dual SIM and is available in three colours: blue, black and grey.
For entertainment there is an FM radio, MP3 and video player and it can also store up to 2000 contacts.
The Nokia 216 comes with the Opera mini web browser and runs Nokia’s S30 software platform.
The only snag, Microsoft hasn’t yet released any plans to launch the phone in Thailand, although it will go on sale in India on October 24th for INR 2,495 ($37).
