Fitbit have announced their new and improved fitness wristbands will be available for sale in Thailand at the end of the month.
There are two new models called Fitbit Charge 2 and Fitbit Flex 2.
They have new features such as GPS capability and PurePulse function that measures heart rate for fitness freaks.
The one with all the bells and whistles comes in at 7,490 baht while the Flex 2 is now 30% smaller and even waterproof. It is available in October for 4,490 baht.
The straps on both models can be changed so the wristband can become as much as a fashion accessory as a training tool. There is also a bigger screen compared to previous offerings.
The device will be on sale in Power Buy, Jay Mart and other IT stockists.
Louis Leigh the SE Asia manager for the Singapore company that produces the device said that 48.7 million units had been sold worldwide in 64 countries.
Meanwhile, a new survey has revealed that Fitbit has extended its market share for connected wearables, capturing 25.4 percent of the market, with a 29 percent growth in sales compared to the previous year, according to market research company IDC.
Fitbit’s bumper year comes amid a sharp drop in sales of the Apple Watch, which saw a 57 percent year on year drop in sales.
Apple is of course expected to release the 2nd generation of its smartwatch on September 7th in San Francisco.
