The new Pixel phones from Google are expected to be launched on October 4 and according to the latest rumours they could be the more powerful than any other smartphone available today.

Pictures of the Pixel and Pixel XL have been shared by Android Authority and @OnLeaks and are said to be “factory renders” which means that they have probably come from the company’s official design and production line.

According to a report from David Ruddock of Android Police, the Pixel and Pixel XL will be the first smartphones to include the new all powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor.

It is believed that the Pixel (codename Sailfish) and the Pixel XL (codename Marlin) will be very similar with the XL being slightly larger.

Google are expected offer an aluminium version with a white front and possibly an electric blue model that will have a blue back and white front.

The 5 inch Sailfish or Pixel is expected to have 4GB RAM, 2,770mAh battery and 1920×1080 display.

The larger Marlin or Pixel XL will have a 5.5 inch 2560×1440 display with a larger 3450mAh battery.

Both phones feature a glass panel on the top of the device that includes the rear camera, fingerprint reader and antenna lines whilst the rest of the device is enclosed in an all metal body.

According to the leaked images, there also appears to be a power/lock and volume buttons and the sides, a headphone socket and a USB-C port on the bottom.
