The iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X will reportedly be on sale at the MBK shopping mall in Bangkok well ahead of their official release in Thailand.
However, they will cost you a small fortune and you’d be an idiot to buy one.
Prices for the new iPhones which are to go sale at MBK later this month have this week been shared on popular Thai social media sites.
According to Thai Rath, the phones have been purchased in the U.S., Hong Kong, Japan and Australia, to then be resold by retailers at MBK at highly inflated prices.
Some of the prices are three or four times what customers can normally expect to pay.
Apple is yet to confirm the official price and release date of the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X in Thailand but whatever the price they won’t be as expensive as the prices listed at MBK.
According to a post on Facebook, the 64GB iPhone 8 will be on sale at MBK for Bt 64,000, which is probably more than double its official sales price. It’s the same story with the iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X – of which the 256GB version will set you back Bt 102,000!!
As mentioned, the Thailand price is yet to be confirmed by Apple but going off current exchange rates, you’re far better off just waiting a few weeks until the phone is officially released here.
As a rough guide, here’s what you can probably expect to pay for the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X when they are released in Thailand:
64GB – Bt 23,000
256GB – Bt 28,000
iPhone 8 Plus
64GB – Bt 27,000
256GB – Bt 31,500
64GB – Bt 33,000
256GB – Bt 38,000
