Adult website Pornhub claims that it can buy and save the ailing video sharing app Vine.

Vine, which is owned by Twitter, had previously announced that the site would be closed but Pornhub CEO Corey Price sent a letter to Jack Dorsey, the CEO of Twitter promising to return Vine “back to its NSFW glory”.

The problem that Pornhub may encounter is the fact that app for Vine is set to be discontinued and previosuly users needed to use the app in order to post the six second video clips.

Old posts can still be seen and the adult website certainly sees potential for future posts.

The full letter says that Pornhub would look to purchase the site because of the similarities between the two.

It also praises the fact that the site was able to “capture the uniqueness of humanity with Vine”, CNET reported.

“My company Pornhub, the leading adult entertainment site with more than 60 million daily visitors, has a lot in common with Vine,” writes Mr Price. Now, before you start rolling your eyes, hear me out Jack.

“We’re interested in purchasing Vine from you. We figure since Twitter has dropped it and is having significant layoffs that you and your stakeholders could benefit from a cash infusion from the sale of Vine”.

The last part refers to the fact that Twitter has been forced to cut large numbers of employees due weakening financial results.

The letter ends with a rather optimistic note to Mr Dorsey saying that it looks “forward to the possibility of arranging a meeting to discuss the details”.
