Redfin Launches Collaborative Tool Shared Search

Searching for a new home just got a whole lot easier, thanks to Redfin. The company launched Shared Search today, a new collaborative search tool that lets you work with others to find your dream home.

If you’re searching for a new home online, there’s a good chance that you’re sharing links, addresses and information about potential homes to your significant other, family member, or maybe even your agent. Shared Search makes it easier to share this information.

When visiting the site, you’ll be prompted to enter the email addresses of the people you want to collaborate your search with. Everyone who was invited can then see the homes you like and even add comments to the listings you favorite. This new feature is available both on the web and through Redfin’s mobile app.

In the future, Redfin says agents will be able to recommend homes to their clients. Surprisingly, the company will allow all agents to collaborate – not just Redfin agents. A company spokesperson stated that the decision to work with outside agents was made to “delight customers” and to keep them coming back. As more people use the Redfin website, it gives Redfin agents valuable exposure. Of course, Redfin says it will also be working hard to let users know about their service.
