It’s now only a couple of weeks before the official launch of the Samsung Galaxy S8 but the rumours and leaks are still coming out.
The latest prediction comes from Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities – better known for his Apple tips and revelations
In his latest investor note, as seen on 9to5Google he states that the on-sale date for the new device will be April 21 and repeats what many other insiders have said, predicting two sizes for the Galaxy S8.
Both will have OLED displays and WQHD+ resolutions of 2,960 x 2,400 pixels. Those interested will be able to choose from a 5.8-inch model, complete with a 3,000mAh battery and a 6.2-inch model that comes with a 3,500mAh battery.
Ming-Chi Kuo believes that the processors used in the US, China and Japan will be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 whereas in parts of Asia, likely Thailand and throughout Europe it will be Samsung’s own Exynos 8895 processor.
The amount of internal memory available in Korea and China will be 6GB with rest of the world getting just 4GB.
Like most previous rumours, the master speculator claims the S8 will have a 12MP main camera and an 8MP “selfie” camera. All models will have Samsung’s 3D curved glass and incorporate a USB-C port.
Although Ming-Chi Kuo revelations are hardly ground-breaking he does have an impressive track record with his previous phone predictions so this adds credibility.
Given the amount of leaks to emerge in recent weeks regarding the Galaxy S8 it remains if any surprises will be left for the official launch date on March 29.
