Rio 2016: Have you played Google’s highly addictive Doodle Fruit Games yet?

It seems that everyone is getting into the Olympic spirit and Google are no different having launched a set of interactive doodle games in celebration of the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Perhaps the best known web page in the world has launched a series of minigames that can be played either on your smartphone or through your web browser.

You can be a swimming lemon, a running strawberry or even a tennis playing pineapple.

Google wrote on its official blog: “The name of today’s featured game is to see who’s the fastest fruit on the track in this berry special race. Don’t be MELONcholy if your sprint turns into more of a smoothie.”

They went on: “We hope you find these fruits as apPEELing as we do. And don’t forget to share your cherry impressive results with friends to see who claims the top seed. These two games are just a taste of what’s in store, so come back to the Google app throughout the week to catch the featured game of the day.”

Google are also offering plenty of information on the Olympics such as showing the events schedule, athlete information as well as medal counts – all within their search results.

Virtual tours are available on Google Maps and you can even catch up with the highlights of Rio 2016 also being shown via YouTube.
