Samsung has added to its popular range of Galaxy smartphones by launching two great new mid range devices which are aimed at those who enjoy taking selfies.
The new Samsung Galaxy A5 and A7 smartphones boast a 5 megapixel front facing camera and come with a range of camera features such as Rear-Cam Selfie, Baby Face, Palm Selfie and Wide Selfie.
Given Thailand’s love of the ‘selfie’, you’d expect both devices to be a big hit.
The arrival of the 5 inch Samsung Galaxy A5 and 5.5 inch Galaxy A7 follow on from the release of the Galaxy Note 4 and the launch last week of the Galaxy Note Edge.
The launch of the A5 and A7 in Thailand is significant as both of the devices boast aluminium chassis, which is a much welcome change from the brand’s use of plastic cases – a change which is perhaps brought about in order to try and halt the recent decline in sales of Samsung smartphones worldwide.
It is also perhaps a sign of what to expect on the eagerly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S6, which is due to be unveiled at Mobile World Congress next month.
Samsung Galaxy A5
The metal frame of the Samsung Galaxy A5 houses a 5 inch Super AMOLED screen, with a 1.2GHz quad core processor with 2GB of RAM.

The A5 has a thickness of 6.7mm which is just slightly thinner than the iPhone 6.

As mentioned, the Samsung Galaxy A7 sports a larger 5.5 inch full HD screen, with a Super AMOLED display. The device is just 6.3mm in thickness and is powered by a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with 2GB of RAM, making it a little more powerful than the A5, and the premium device out of the two.
Like the A5, the Galaxy A7 offers 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded to 64GB via MicroSD.
In addition to the 5 megapixel front facing camera, the 13 megapixel camera on the rear also is the same as the Galaxy A5.
