Earlier this month it was reported that both 8-inch and 9.7-inch Galaxy Tab S2 tablets are planned by Samsung, and now we’ve got our first glance at what could be the 9.7-inch version of the device. It also looks like the tablet has a very iPad-like 4:3 aspect ratio.
Galaxy Tab S2 official image leaked
The new leak comes from notable leaker @onleaks, also know as Steve Hemmerstoffer of Nowhereelse.fr. He just came out with the image below claiming that it’s Samsung’s 9.7-inch Galaxy Tab S2. The device shown does have a familiar wavy background, almost identical to the one featured in Galaxy S6 imagery.
There’s not really too much to learn from the image however. The Tab S2 doesn’t look very different to ones that Samsung has launched in the past, but it does have some design inspiration from the company’s Galaxy S6.
The Galaxy Tab s2 is said to launch some time in June, and besides the two sizes of 8-inches and 9.7-inches, it will also come in both cellular and Wi-Fi only versions. The device is expected to pack a 64-bit Exynos processor, 3GB of RAM, 32 GB of flash memory, and a 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution AMOLED display.
The image above also shows what might appear to be additional buttons on the right side, however after closer inspection it seems the device has two trays with small pin holes to open them – probably for the SIM and the microSD card slots.
