Samsung will be launching a new Galaxy device later this month.
The company confirmed the release by sending out invitations to a media event in Barcelona that is due to take place just hours before the start of the Mobile World Congress in the same city.
The Korean giant is expected to launch several new devices at the event but the flagship Samsung S8 isn’t expected to be one of them.
The invite, as expected, gives very little insight into what to expect, only the venue and the start time.

The background of the invite is black and dominated by the words Samsung and Galaxy with an image of the bottom of a device. The rumours are that image is of the bottom of the Galaxy Tab S3 tablet.
The image appears to show a mid range tablet, complete with a physical home button and bezel, very similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S2.
The rival to iPad Pro has not been update for a while and the new Tab S3 certainly seems to be aiming for the top end of the market.
Samsung has held back on announcing which devices are to be launched at the event in the hope that they could reveal the Samsung S8 but that seems highly unlikely.
The company usually likes to hold centre stage on the Sunday prior to the main event but the show this year will be held on March 29th a report claims.
The Samsung S8 is expected to drop all physical buttons from the front of the device.
The hardware will also get an overhaul – with the inclusion of Qualcomm’s speedy Snapdragon 835 processor, alongside 4GB RAM and a dual-camera set-up, similar to cameras on the iPhone 7 and Huawei P9, on the larger Galaxy S8 Plus model.
