Seven of the best high end smartphones on sale in Thailand right now (June 2016)

There are some superb smartphones on the market at the moment especially those in the high end bracket with the top manufacturers being hell bent on trying to ‘out do’ each other – an excellent scenario for consumers.

Whilst many of the standard features are the same or similar, all of the top brands are trying to come up with something that is slightly unique and at the cutting edge of technology to help them to differentiate themselves from the pack.

Here are the best high end smartphones on sale in Thailand:

Samsung Galaxy S7 (From THB23,900)

Galaxy S7

The Samsung Galaxy S7 has some pretty impressive specs as you would perhaps expect from a Samsung Flagship. The S7 has a 5.1 inch Super AMOLED display with a 2560 x 1440 resolution.

The device runs using the Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and has 4GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage that can be increased to 200GB with a microSD card and uses Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

The main, rear facing camera is 12MP whilst the front facing, “selfie” camera is 5MP. The device has a 3000 mAh non-removable battery and has dimensions of 142.4 x 69.6 x 7.9 mm and weighs in at just 152 grams.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge (From THB26,900)

The slightly larger Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge comes complete with a 5.5 inch Super AMOLED display that offers the same 2560 x 1440 resolution.

The rest of the specifications are pretty much the same as the Galaxy S7 except it uses a 3600 mAH non-removable battery instead of the 3000 mAH battery in the S7.

The cameras, RAM, internal storage, processor and operating system (OS) are all the same. The dimensions are, as mentioned, slightly larger measuring 150.9 x 72.6 x 7.7 mm and it weighs just 5 grams more at 157 grams.

Huawei P9 (From THB16,900)

The Chinese giant has managed to put together another great offing to compete with the latest high end smartphones in the form of the P9. This device has a 5.2 inch IPS-NEO LCD display that has a resolution of 1920 x 1080.

The P9 comes complete with a 2.5GHZ octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 955 processor and has a non-removable 3000 mAh battery, uses the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with dimensions of 145 x 70. 9 x 7 mm and weighs an impressive 144 grams. It has dual 12MP rear cameras and an 8MP front camera with two versions being available. These are a the 3 or 4 GB of RAM and 32 and 64 GB internal storage versions – both of which can be increased to 128GB with the use of a microSD card.

iPhone 6S (From THB26,900)

The iPhone 6S seems to have been on the market a while now since being first released back in September 2015.

The 6S has a 5.5 inch, LED –backlit IPS LCD, capacitive touchscreen display with 1920 x 1080 MP resolution. It is power using the Dual-core 1.84 GHz Twister and uses iOS 9.32 OS. It comes in the 16, 64 and 128GB internal memory versions all of which come with 2GB of RAM. It has a 12MP primary, rear facing camera and 5MP “selfie” camera and runs using a non-removable 2750 mAh battery.

Moto X Style (From THB19,900 but only available on True Move)

The Moto X Style has a 5.7 inch touchscreen display that has a 1440 x 2560 resolution. The X Style is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, has 3GB of RAM, a slightly lightweight 16GB of internal storage that can be increased to 128GB with the use of a microSD card.

The primary camera is 21 MP and the front facing version is 5 MP. The device runs the Android 5.1.1 OS and has a 3000mAh non-removable battery. In terms of dimensions the X Style is 153.9 x 76.2 x 11.06 mm and weighs 179 grams.

LG G5 SE (From THB21,500)

There are a few versions of this smartphone on the market but the only version that will be available in Thailand is the ‘Special Edition’ or SE. The device comes complete with a 5.3 inch IPS LCD display with 2560 x 1440 resolution. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, has 4GB of RAM, 32GB of onboard storage that can once again be increased to 200GB with the use of a microSD card.

It has 16 and 8MP dual rear cameras and 8MP front facing camera. Like many of the other devices the G5 runs the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. This smartphone has a removable 2800 mAh battery and has dimensions of 149.4 x 73.9 x 7.7 mm weighing 159 grams.

Sony Xperia Z5 Premium (From THB24,900)

The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium has a 5.5 inch, IPS LCD display with a very impressive 3840 x 2160 resolution. The Z5 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, it has 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage than can once again be increased to 200GB with the use of a microSD card.

The device uses the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, has a 3430 mAh battery. The main camera is 23 MP and the front facing camera is 5MP with dimensions of 154.4 x 76 x 7.8 mm and weighs 180 grams.
