Some holdups but high speed internet expected to reach 24,700 Thai villages within next year

Despite some holdups a project to bring high speed internet to 24,700 housing estates is still on track to be completed by the end of 2017.

The work is a joint operation between the TOT and the department responsible for the digital economy – the DE.

Discussions have taken place to revise the specifications used in providing the internet lines but these are expected to be resolved soon.

TOT chief Monchai Noosong said he hopes that high speed internet will be a reality in the estates very soon.

A budget of 13 billion baht has been set aside for the work.

The Daily News article did not elaborate on the locations of the estates that will receive the high speed internet.
