Sony’s 4K Android TV sets now available

After Sony introduced new super hi-res 4K televisions in April, Sony has now announced that its stunning X900C is available for pre-order.

First Sony Android televisions

The 55 and 65 inch LED models both have a 2,160p (4) resolution, as well as the company’s Touchpad remote control, plus 3 x USB 2.0 ports, 4 x HDMI inputs, and the company’s Motionflow technology.

However, that wouldn’t be that impressive if it wasn’t one of the first televisions that comes with the new Android TV OS that has until recently only been available on set top boxes and Google and Asus’ Nexus Player. So basically, it’s one of the first chances you’ll get to get hold of a new 4K TV with Android TV.

Earlier in the month, Android TV has a huge update in anticipation of new Sony products (and others) arriving imminently. With the update, Google has also revamped how you find programmes, while also adding access to more than 600 new apps, 20 categories, and better curation.

The latest Sony 4K Android TV, model X900C, is available for release on July 19th and can be pre-ordered today for “just” $2,500 for the 55-inch version and $3,999 for the 65-inch model.
