Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection Release Date and Details Announced

This new collection of classic Street Fighter games was first announced at during the Capcom Cup at 2017’s PlayStation Experience. Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection will contain years of history and nostalgia in one game and will be a must buy for the millions of fans across the world of the fighting series.

The game will be officially launched for the PlayStation 4 on 29th May this year. Capcom the games makers describe the collection as “a true time capsule built for modern day entertainment systems.”

The game includes 12 pixel perfect arcade versions of the series most pivotal games, here is the list, Street Fighter, Street Fighter II, Street Fighter II: Champion Edition, Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II, Super Street Fighter II: Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Street Fighter III, Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact, and Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike.

Each title will be immediately available to play as soon as you start the game, so no having to play through for a certain amount of time or make any special achievements to unlock certain content. Full support for both DualShock 4 and PS$ fight sticks in included.

Playable online versions available are Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II: Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha 3, and Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike. These four were selected as each game is final version of their respective game in the franchise.

Anyone who played the originals in the arcades will remember a time someone would come up to the machine to challenge you to a game, this has been replicated albeit in an online challenge. When playing through the Arcade mode you will be interrupted by challengers, when the match is finished the game will take you back to the Arcade mode, a very novel inclusion.

The mode of course can be turned off leaving you to play in peace.

Many more features are set to be included when the game is released, with an expected retail price of £29.99 in the UK and $39.99 in the U.S.

The collection will also be released for Nintendo Switch and Xbox One.
