Following months of speculation and rumours, official images have been released of the new Oppo R7 smartphone.
The device, which is thought to be the successor to the company’s previous flagship device, the Oppo R5, is expected to be officially unveiled on May 20.
It is believed the Oppo R7 will be even thinner than the R5, which at just 4.85mm thick briefly held the title of the world’s thinnest smartphone before another Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Vivo, released the X5 Max , which measures in at just 4.75mm.
Due to the fact the Oppo R5 is available globally and with Thailand originally being one of the first locations outside of China where the phone was available to buy, we’d also expect the R7 to be on sale here fairly soon after its unveiling. We will bring you official confirmation of this in May.
Unconfirmed as yet, but the Oppo R7 is expected to come with a 4.7 inch 1080p screen, which is said to include 2.5D glass which gives the appearance of an edge to edge display without bezels running down either side of the screen.
The R7 will be powered by a 64 octa-core processor, will include a 20.7 megapixel camera and is said to offer lightning fast charging speeds.
Oppo is also said to be releasing a higher end R7 Plus on May 20, however, we’re still awaiting official confirmation on specs and design.
