Microsoft has confirmed its MacBook Pro rival, the Surface Book 2, is coming to Thailand.
Touted by as premium hybrid device, the laptop as been widely praised by both users and reviewers alike, despite its hefty price tag.
Launched in major markets back in November, the 15 inch Surface Book 2 is now available to pre order in Thailand and 16 other countries.
Microsoft also said that a 13 inch version of the device will be launched in Thailand but the tech giant hasn’t specified an actual release date for either device.
“Later, beginning in February and continuing through March and April, Surface Book 2 13” and 15” will roll out to Bahrain, China, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Korea, Kuwait, Malaysia, Oman, Portugal, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates. Check with Microsoft Stores, local retail or your commercial reseller partners for details on availability in your market,” Microsoft said in a blog post.
The Surface Book 2 is a unique and powerful machine, featuring some of the best hardware, such as an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 and Intel’s 8 Gen Core Processors, along with some of the best software Microsoft has to offer.
Touted as Microsoft’s answer to the MacBook Pro, it is aimed at professionals who need enough power to run the most demanding software and applications on the move.
Microsoft’s Surface Book line up lets you use the device as a tablet or via its mechanical hinge let you use it as a regular laptop.
The price for the Surface Book 2 in Thailand hasn’t yet been released.
However, in the United States the 13 inch base level Surface Book 2 starts from $1,499, which includes Intel Core i5, 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage.
The 15 inch model starts at $2,499 for the Intel Core i7 model with 16 GB RAM and 256 GB internal storage.
The top of the range 15 inch model that includes 16GB RAM and a whopping 1 TB of storage is priced at $3,299.
