The Apple Watch won’t be available to the public until April 24, but influencers in the tech world have already had the chance to test out the highly-anticipated device. While some have fallen head over heels for the Apple Watch, others are still on the fence about the wearable technology.
Most are saying that the pre-installed apps (you know, Apple’s own apps) look and feel the best. Third-party apps, on the other hand, sometimes feel clunky or don’t have a justifiable purpose for being on the watch. Load times can be “laggy,” with some taking anywhere between 5 and 30 seconds to load.
Some feel the Apple Watch’s interface is too complex and takes quite a bit of time to get used to. The Remote app is a smart idea, but you can’t actually turn on the Apple TV with the app. You’ll need to use the remote for that, which most people agree is counterintuitive.
The Apple Mail app lets you read or delete mail, but thus far, there’s no option to respond to emails. The inability to respond is a bit of an oddity as you can tweet, create notes and even send text messages through the watch.
The Apple Watch is certainly an impressive piece of wearable technology, but it’s not without its flaws. Apple will likely take steps to resolve the watch’s imperfections, but it’s unlikely we’ll see these changes implemented before its public release in late April.
