The Samsung Galaxy View is a large screen tablet that has recently been launched in Thailand.
With its 18.6 inch display, the Galaxy View is more like a small TV than it is tablet, with Samsung claiming it is largest Android mobile device on the market currently.
Unlike other supersized tablets, such as the iPad Pro and Microsoft Surface Pro 4, which are marketed along the lines of productivity and business use, the Galaxy View has been designed for those weekends spent binge watching Game of Thrones or whatever Netflix series you happen to be into at any given moment.
The device, which was originally launched in October last year but has only now become available in Thailand, is 4G LTE enabled and comes complete with video-centric interface in mind claim Samsung.
It is powered by an octa-core 1.6GHz Samsung Exynos 7580 processor that comes complete with 2GB of RAM. Internal storage wise, the tablet comes with a 32GB and a 64GB version that also support microSD cards.
The screen is an 18.6 inch TFT LCD full-HD touchscreen that is 1080 x 1920 pixels with a PPI of 120 pixels. The screen is supported by a built in 2 way kickstand that can also be used as a carrying handle seeing as it is certainly a larger than standard tablet.
When it comes to the audio, the Galaxy View has dual 4-watt speakers.
The front facing 2.1 megapixel camera sits on top of the display and the 5700mAh battery supports 8 hours of video playback time.
In terms of size, the View is 451.8mm x 27.8 x 11.9 mm and weighs 2.65kgs. On top of the afore mentioned 4G LTE the device also features Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi 802.11 and USB connectivity.
The tablet will feature a custom home screen that will include popular apps such as YouTube and Netflix. If you swipe to the following screen the standard folders and apps will be available.
This Samsung Galaxy View is now available in Thailand for THB23,900 and is available from all major retailers.
