The Gear S3, latest smartwatch from Samsung was first unveiled back in September in Berlin.
A follow up to the successful Gear S2, the Samsung Gear S3 comes in two new styles – Frontier and Classic.
Frontier is designed to be “a sport focused watch, and leisure wearable.” The Classic on the other hand “pays homage to the minimalist, elegant style found in the most iconic timepieces,” Samsung says.
“Whether you thirst for adventure, or prefer a more classic design, both are the perfect blend of form and function,” the South Korean firm adds. “Welcome to a new generation of smartwatches.”
The new G3 is compatible with any standard 22mm wrist band meaning that users can customise the device to their taste without having to stick to just what Samsung has to offer.
The watch runs the all new Tizen OS and includes a spinning bezel that helps you navigate your way around the simple but extremely effective operating system.
Of course the downside to Tizen OS is that from a performance point of view the app ecosystem isn’t anyway near as comprehensive as on Android Wear and hasn’t really been improved since the Samsung Gear S2.
It is hoped that the internal refinements will go some way to justifying the fact that the device is more expensive than the Apple Watch.
The Gear S3 is already on sale in the UK and is tipped to be released in the United States on November 18.
There is no word yet on the official release of the Gear S3 in Thailand but expect it to be in stores by early 2017, costing in the region of 15,500 baht.
